The frost bite almost got me yesterday when it was -12 degrees- and, apparently this winter's been much warmer than normal!
I have been going to Norwegian lessons 5-days a week but still 'jeg snakker ikke norsk.' One of the other students in the class is a professional woman footballer from Finland who is over here playing for the local women's team and she also plays for the national side. Am missing playing football but have been able to watch loads- there are more live premiership games shown on Norwegian TV than you get in England!
I have not got a job yet as am concentrating on learning the language for the moment though I've had an offer to go and work in Oslo (4 hours away), which I'm contemplating. I had the plaster cast taken off my leg 2 weeks ago. My leg was so stiff and my knee swollen as I have a build up of fluid on it. I have been seeing a physio (who just so happens to be an ex-international Norwegian player and who has been the physio for the Norwegian under-21s for the past 10 years or so) and all I'm allowed to do is walk and gentle cycling for now. He reckons it'll be at least 6-months before I can think about playing again. Oh well, I guess I can concentrate on learning norsk.
Am looking forward to when we next win a game and am glad to see the ressies are still flying.
Much love from Norway. |
